Dr. Steven McConnell graduated from the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry and has been practicing in Marin County ever since — for over three decades. In a county where families stay for generations, so has he.
His philosophy is unusual for a cosmetic dentist: he is relentlessly conservative. He will not recommend a treatment he doesn't believe is necessary. He will always show you the most conservative path first — even if a more expensive option exists. Patients notice this. They tell their neighbors. Dr. McConnell specializes in full mouth rejuvenation, bite analysis, dental aging, and smile makeovers — the complex, comprehensive cases that require the kind of expertise that only decades of practice can build. After 40 years of practice, we made a decision: we would rather be entirely accountable to our patients than partially accountable to an insurance company.
When an insurance plan limits what we can do for you, we feel it. We've watched it compromise treatment plans, shorten appointments, and change what we recommend. We're done with that.
Now, every decision we make is entirely about you.
How out-of-network works

Treatment decisions are made by Dr. McConnell, based on what's best for you — not what your plan will cover.
We submit your PPO claim directly
Our team handles the paperwork. You don't chase the insurance company — we do it for you.
You receive your reimbursement
Your PPO plan reimburses you directly for the out-of-network portion. Most patients are surprised how much comes back.
